SD has provided overview of ARPASS within a structured interview and met with the lead consultant with regard the 3 DHBs on the Joint Auckland Regional Healthy Eating Healthy Action implementation strategy to align the work of this strategy with that of ARPASS.  The SD will be attended the Northern Regional Alignment group workshop of September 5 and the regional workshop of management and governance on September 6th

The opportunity to align the regional actions of ARPASS and locally of RST with respective DHBs is valuable.  ARPASS has been signalled by the DHBs presented too that they wish to utilise the existing structures and lessons learnt to implement regionally and connect with RSTs and Councils through existing structures particularly around physical activity initiatives.

> GIS Mapping Exercise

Maps are being blown up to focus on identified communities.  These maps will be over-layed with the locations of schools, open space and Council facilities.  A local community survey to identify adequacy of provision and barriers to activity in each localised community will be undertaken as will an audit of the open space provision.

The findings of both the surveys and the audits will be presented to those agencies responsible for delivering on impacting positively on solution to identified issues.

> ARTA

The Incentive programme will has begun with the return of schools to term three.  The linking of Active school and ARTA Walking School Bus schools is to be completed by October.  A workshop with ARTA and Active schools co-ordinators to identify a process for future development of Waking School Buses within Active Schools will be developed and a co-relation of current and future Active schools with Walking School Bus plans will be completed to aid in delivery of the programme and ensure greater retention programmes within schools.

> TXTPlay

As noted in the financial summary – as the results of the application will not been known in time to develop the txt campaign in line with Push Play month in October, the texting initiative with Green Prescriptions will be brought forward.  A project brief has been completed and the partners will have the initial meeting for implementation mid September.

> Database Collation – PlayDay

The database has been delayed for public launch for mid October due to delays in data collection. The second level of data collection re events and clubs is underway.  The website will be available for a site as a private address to work on issues and ensure it is operational.

> Maori and Pacific Island Projects

SPARC and Te Puni Kokiri have agreed to led with ARPAS a Maori roundtable of Iwi liaison staff from DHBs, Councils and RSTs and other relevant agencies to identify regional projects

With the involvement into HEHA who also target Maori and Pacific Island communities it is suggested that future developments of projects with these groups be delayed until actions from HEHA are identified. Any projects for these communities can then have resources aligned across the region for delivery hence preventing duplication and more appropriately delivery.
